Man Utd transfer news: Second bid prepared for ‘keen’ target

There is a little more than a week from the transfer window and time is over for Manchester United to do business.

The club undertook considerable expenses in the summer and is still in the lower half of the Premier League and with a new head coach. Ruben Amorim has not yet been able to form the United team with its own players, and the time is free to bring something in.

The Red Devils could see bodies coming and leaving before the window is short. The future of Marcus Rashford is increasingly looking like he could stay in the northwest when the days pass by, while United seems to bind a deal for Lecce's Patrick Dorgu.

Mirror Football takes a look at the latest transfer news and rumors around Old Trafford.

New bid

United has planned their second bid for Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu, by reports.

The Red Devils have already seen one proposal rejected by the Serie A -side. United is expected to return with an offer above their initial € 27 million, but still shortage of € 40 million from Dorgu.

For his part, the 20-year-old seems to make the move Old Trafford. The Danish full-back has also drawn interest from Napoli in recent days, who allows Dorgu to remain on loan at Lecce until the summer.

Meeting planned

There is no shortage of news on United's search to bring Dorgu to Manchester. After representatives have already met Lecce President Sticchi Damiani, a second meeting is planned for the weekend.

Damiani reportedly said that Intial conversations went well and that he was 'proud' to have attracted interest of a club of the status of United. However, the Lecce chef suggested that he would like to keep Dorgu until the end of the season.

Calciomercato, witnessing per sport, reported on Thursday that another meeting would take place in three days. Because Ruben Amorim would like to see a deal this month, it seems that Damiana may not be locked up to retain the services of Dorgu for the rest of the season.

Marcus Rashford Newest

While the days are tapping, it looks an increasingly difficult task for Marcus Rashford to earn a move this month. Reports now suggest that the 27-year-old has accepted that he will remain in Old Trafford for the rest of the season after negotiations on a move to Borussia Dortmund.

The financial burden of doing such a deal has left the Bundesliga side 'not hopeful' to secure Rashford this month, by Sky Sports Germany. Dortmund will wait to see if United is willing to cover most of the salary of Rashford, since the window is approaching.

The chances of AC Milan to sign Rashford were over after he had signed Kyle Walker on loan at Manchester City. The Italian giants cannot register a temporary step for another non-EU player of the Premier League.
