The January transfer window has opened and Manchester United still have a lot of work to do.
The Red Devils are languishing in the bottom half of the table and Ruben Amorim must find answers to turn the club's fortunes around. United's summer signings have yielded few positive results so far and it could be difficult to do better this month.
Amorim has already acknowledged that doing business will be difficult. “We don't have that option in January,” Amorim said.
'You know the situation better than I do [do]. It's not like I don't come here and I can spend a lot of money changing the whole team. You know the situation, so there's no point in talking about it.”

Casemiro 'agrees to leave'
Casemiro is open to a move away from United as six teams hunt for his signature. According to Brazil's UOL, Saudi parties Al-Hilal, Al Nassr, Al Ittihad, Al Ahli, Al-Ettifaq and Al-Qadisiyah are all contenders for the Brazilian's signature.
Both parties have maximized their quota of foreign players and should therefore make an adjustment. The report suggests there are 'no major obstacles' blocking his departure, with Al Nassr reportedly particularly keen on the move to reunite him with ex-Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
Offer 'almost certain'
A bid for Joshua Zirzkee from Juventus is almost certain, according to reports from Italy. La Repubblica reports Zirkzee has 'digested' his first-half substitution against Newcastle and is now planning to leave United in January. Juve would like to reunite the Dutchman with ex-Bologna boss Thiago Motta.
The Serie A team is interested in a loan deal with an option to sign the player permanently, subject to conditions such as qualification for the Champions League. United would love to provide a financial boost, but Juventus are about to test their Premier League warriors.
United interested in free agent opportunity
Manchester United have revived their interest in Barcelona star Dani Olmo, according to Mundo Deportivo, but the player seems highly unlikely to move.
Olmo's future in Catalonia is uncertain as there is a possibility he could be released from his contract with Barcelona, preventing him from registering the summer signing for the second half of the season due to financial problems.
However, the winger's agent insists his client will NOT move and is not receiving any potential offers.
