Jonathan David is ready to leave Lille on a free transfer in the summer and has many interested lovers, who scored 23 times this season at the French club
Jonathan David has suggested that he wants to play at the “very highest level” prior to a summer transfer window that there will be a lot of demand. David is out of contract with Lille at the end of the season and is generally expected to continue, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle, Tottenham, West Ham and Barcelona among those interested in acquiring his services.
The Canada International has scored 107 goals in 224 games in all matches for Lille, including 23 this season. The 25-year-old has long been associated with a switch to the Premier League and now seems ready to take a step.
Lille has helped developing the careers of Eden Hazard, Victor Osimhen, Rafael Leao, Gabriel Magalhaes, Mike Maignan, Leny Yoro and Dimitri Payet in the past and David wants to follow in their footsteps and challenge himself at a new club.
“It is clear that this summer I am not sure if I will stay or go. But if I finally go, I have to push myself at the very first level,” he told Golazo America after scoring and an assist for Canada in a 2-1 win over the United States on Sunday.
“If you play for a big club, your position [in the team] Is never guaranteed and you have to fight. I am never guaranteed somewhere where I will start every game and play every game, I have to perform. I am willing to fight. I know it's an important year. It's a big decision. I will make a wise decision. “
It is not the first time that David recently tackled speculation about his future – and the media's media could reflect a player trying to get lovers from the judge. “To be honest, I think I can adapt to any competition,” he told Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher on the Calls Soccer! Podcast. “Every competition has its differences. I think the Premier League is much faster and more physical than all other competitions.
“I grew up watching a lot of La Liga. I would not say that it would be my favorite competition, but it is a competition that I liked to watch more [than others]. One day I would like to play there. But will that happen? Don't know. I'm not against anything. We will see where the future brings us. “

David believes that his experiences will help him continue where he ends up. He added: “I had difficult moments, especially my first season and even my first two seasons at Lille. I think I had a dry enchantment, but now I score so much. But for me in those situations it's about making focus on work, so doing extra after training and always hard work, and knowing something will happen.
“Knowing that I brought in the work, gives me more faith in the field, knowing that I did what I could do, so I have no regrets. Normally I am more of a reserved, shy man, but moving to different countries makes you evolve when a person and you let it come from your shell. You have to get involved.
“As a player, everywhere you go, you have to adjust because the culture is different, the playing style is different, the players are different and there are different expectations of you.”
