Man Utd waiting for club captain to give response on future amid Saudi interest

Manchester United is waiting to hear from club captain Bruno Fernandes about whether he wants to stay in the club, amidst Saudi Pro League Club Al Hilal.

The Saudi club is willing to make Fernandes one of the best -paid players in the world and pay £ 100 million to sign the United Captain.

The Fernandes agent, Miguel Pinho, has been in Riyad for conversations with Senior Al Hilal managers, and Saudi Pro League insiders believe that it is a positive sign for all Hilal that Pinho has traveled to Saudi -Arabia.

United does not want to sell, while head coach Ruben Amorim wants Fernandes to stay and believes that his captain wants to stay at Old Trafford.

It is thought that United would only weigh a potential offer for Fernandes if he communicated to the club he wants to leave.

Sky Sports News has been told that Fernandes should not formally express the club to whether or not he is open to a new challenge.

Al Hilal is willing to almost taste the wages of £ 250,000 a week a week.

The Portugal International, which turns 31 in September, signed a contract extension until 2027 last summer with the option of 12 months.

Al Hilal has also had conversations about signing Cristiano Ronaldo, who will become a free agent next month if he does not sign a new contract with Al Nassr.

Already Hilal expects to have at least one signing of the big name and a new head coach when they play World Cup in the United States in June.

Amorim: I feel that Fernandes wants to continue at Man Utd

When asked if Fernandes had played his last match for United in their 3-1 friendly victory over Hong Kong, Amorim replied: “I don't think so I don't know for sure, nobody knows, but I don't think so.

“I think he wants to stay, he says 'no' to many things, but it shows that he wants to win. He is really good and must be in the best competition in the world.

“Yes [we can turn down a £100m bid]We can find another way to make money.

“Of course I am the manager, the coach, but sometimes it's the player's decision, but of course I talk to him, I explain things and I just have that feeling. If you talk to someone, you have that feeling if he wants to stay.

“Of course he was so frustrated in many games this season, but he knows what we are doing. The feeling that every time I speak to him is that he certainly wants to continue at Man Utd. But you never know.”
