Bruno Fernandes is interested in Real Madrid in the midst of claims that he could leave £ 90 million this summer and Manchester United could soon start planning the follow -up of their captain in case he leaves Old Trafford
Manchester United could have some follow -up planning to do after news that Real Madrid roads a bid of £ 90 million on their Talisman Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese playmaker has worn the Red Devils this season and he helped them reach the Europa League quart finals on his own.
This season Fernandes has 16 goals in all competitions and 13 assists, despite the fact that United has undergone their worst ever Premier League campaign under both Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim. The team is currently 13th in the table.
Without Fernandes, United can be even lower in the table and there may be some concern for the following season if the club agrees to sell him to Madrid. The financial difficulties of United are well documented after making 200 job reductions earlier this year, while free lunches in the canteen have been demolished and the prices for MatchDay Ticket have risen.
The club can be tempted to apply, so that they can reinvest in other parts of the team – but they should ensure that they first receive a quality replacement for the Portugal International. Mirror Football has viewed five players who can replace Fernandes in Old Trafford.
Mikel Damsgaard
If United is looking for a quality playmaker who can play in the No. 10 as Fernandes, but also knows the Premier League well, they should not look beyond Brentford's unfortunate hero Mikel Damsgaard.
The Danish international is only 24, but this season is running heads in the top flight thanks to his incredible creative displays.
He currently has ten assists, making him together with Fulham's Antonee Robinson and Arsenal star Bukayo Saka.
Damsgaard has been Brentford's primary engine this season and his performance probably went under the radar. He actually has an assist than Fernandes in the Premier League.
There have been suggestions that he could be a Red Devils player this summer – but that was before the ties between Fernandes and Madrid came forward.
There were some questions about whether Damsgaard and Fernandes could play at the same time, but if he leaves, the Denmark International could be the perfect replacement that can even improve as football in the coming years.
Ebereechi
The Crystal Palace enjoyed another impressive season for Crystal Palace that is covered with a first England target against Latvia in the recent international break.
The 26-year-old has long had admirers of the best Premier League clubs in the country and after scoring four goals and offering nine assists, he might be ready for the next step in his career.
This summer, Eze only had two years to walk in Selhurst Park and Palace can be tempted this summer by a considerable offer, in an attempt to receive the maximum transfer costs for a player who cost £ 17 million from QPR in 2020.
Reports have claimed that Eze has a release clause of £ 68 million, and although Eze could play in other positions – such as on the wing – there may be questions about whether spending such an enormous reimbursement would be wisely considered to see transfer flops such as Antony and Rasmus Hojlund.
Morgan Gibbs-White
Another Premier League game maker who flourished this season and should have little trouble adapting to life at Old Trafford.
Gibbs-White has been one of the striking in the incredible season of Nottingham Forest, making them the favorites to get a shock in the Champions League next season.
Forest is currently third in the Premier League table, only four points behind the second place Arsenal, with Gibbs-white centrally in their excellent displays.
The former Wolves star has five goals and seven assists in the top flight and helps a goal in each of his last two league games. United fans and officials must be used to Gibbs-White, after he had seen him in a 3-2 victory for Forest in Old Trafford in a 3-2 victory for Forest in Old Trafford.
Gibbs -White was a record sign drawing on the city land after he was affiliated with a reported £ 25 million in 2022, and the forest shier would not be willing to lose their star player, unless they received a huge compensation – especially given that they play in the Champions League next season.
Likewise, Gibbs-White can question the opportunity to reject the opportunity to mix it in Europe-Elite if United is without European football next season, which will be a reality if they do not win the Europa League.
Oscar Gloukh
The Israeli playmaker is not a player of whom every United fan has heard, but he is starting to slowly increase interest throughout Europe after a number of striking displays for Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian top flight.
Glouk is a 20-year-old attacking midfielder who so far has 10 goals this season in just 20 games for Salzburg.
He can also play on the wing and there have already been reports from the Manchester Evening News that United Glouk has integrated as a future successor for Fernandes earlier this season.
The report claimed that United was planning for a future without Fernandes long before Madrid came by and Glouk was seen as a player who could have an incredible potential – with other Premier League parties who also haunt him.
Glouk started his career at Maccabi Tel Aviv in his native Israel before he came to Salzburg for only £ 6 million in 2023. He scored 21 goals in 90 performances for Salzburg, so that they helped the title in 2022-23.
Xavi Simons
There have been a lot of whispering that United has viewed Dutch Youngster Xavi Simons over the years – as one of those players who refuses to avoid speculation.
Simons can play everywhere along the four positions, but mainly played in the attacking midfield role for Leipzig, the club where he only added about £ 40 million in January.
But there have been claims that Simons could leave this summer after the German reporter Christian Falk said that it was “surprising” that he came to the club after his first loan agreement last season.
He scored 18 goals in 68 performances for Leipzig and this season he has seven goals in five assists. Simons started in 2010 in the famous La Masia Academy of Barcelona before he came to PSG and later PSV, where he delivered 22 times of 48 performances in the 2022-23 campaign.
Now Falk has claimed that it is “probably”, Leipzig will sell Simons this summer, with the possibility that he could yield transfer costs with around £ 66 million. He said that United would lead the pursuit, together with Liverpool and Manchester City – with Leipzig, please make a profit in case the player chooses to leave.
