Manchester City 225-0 Real Madrid

Manchester City tries to reverse their season with a huge investment while Real Madrid stands still.

Real Madrid visits the city today with an exhausted team-without a natural right back (Valverde would usually fill in) and missing a first team center-back (Asencio has been called from Castilla, while Tchouaméni is of course a midfielder).

Despite an inconsistist Season, Madrid's Performance Has Been far from Disastrous: They Lead La Liga And Narrowly Missed Out On The Champions League Round Of 16 , and only one victory in their last 13 games.

Perhaps that Madrid's decision explains to run the season with their existing team, to choose not to make winter signs, while City went all-in during the January transfer window.

The citizens have spent no less than € 225 million, spread over several acquisitions: Marmoush (€ 75 million + € 5 million in add-ons), Nico (€ 60 million), Khusanov (€ 40 million + € 10 million in add-ons ) and Vorror Reis (€ 35 million). They also spent an extra € 6 million on Juma Bah, who moved from Valladolid before they were borrowed from Lens.

This is not an isolated event, but rather a continuation of a long -established trend. In the past five seasons, City has spent € 970 million on transfers, while Madrid has only spent € 299.5 million – a difference of more than € 670 million, or an average of € 134 million less per season. Despite this financial inequality, Madrid performed the city better in the Champions League. The two clubs meet in the competition for the fourth consecutive season, where the side of Ancelotti wins two of the previous three meetings and the trophy occurs.

One thing is certain: although neither club is currently at its peak, this remains the most important matchup in the European football-de modern Clásico of the Champions League. They are also the two most valuable squadrons according to transfer market: Stadstop the list at € 1.3 billion, followed by Madrid at € 1.23 billion. Arsenal finishes the top three at € 1.15 billion.

Madrid's short team could influence their appreciation, but they still have some of the most valuable players in the world. At the very top are Haaland and Vinícius Jr. Each bound at € 200 million. Among them, Madrid dominates the next level, with Bellingham (€ 180 million) and Mbappé (€ 160 million) that leads the peloton.
