Manchester City challenging Arsenal for €25m La Liga star

The La Liga market is one that the Premier League has looked at more and more in recent years, and it is expected that this will take place in 2025 for the summer transfer window. There is an abundance of talented younger players in Spanish football who are linked to moving to England, and one of them is Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia.

Garcia, who was one of the best keepers in La Liga this season, came close to Arsenal last summer. Although they are expected to rely on their interest in 2025, they will be confronted with more competition this time.

Manchester City is credited with an interest in Garcia, and the same can be said for Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen. And to make things worse for Arsenal and these clubs, it was reported from England (via Ed) that Manchester City has now reached the race for the 23-year-old.

Espanyol is willing to have Garcia leave, given their well -documented financial problems. He has a release clause of € 25 million before the start of the summer, although Los Pericos may be willing to accept a lower price.

It is no surprise that Garcia has attracted a lot of interest in recent months. He is perhaps the reason that Espanyol is currently not living in the La Liga degradation zone, and he will hope that if he leaves, he will leave with the Catalan club that is still at the top of Spanish football.

The clubs that are interested in Garcia are likely to continue to follow his performances for Espanyol for the rest of the season, before they decide if they do a movement during the summer transfer window. It is worth noting that he is about to be called for the Spanish national team, so wherever he goes, he will probably like to continue the number one goalkeeper.
