Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes will have to consider other possibilities if he has to get a big movement in motion this summer, with Manchester City apparently no longer an option. The side of Pep Guardiola is the heaviest connected to Rodrygo, but now Los Blancos and the Brazilian will place their hope for a movement elsewhere.
City was aimed at bringing in Rodrygo as a replacement for Savinho this summer, with their own Brazilian winger on a move to Tottenham Hotspur. City had rejected a bid from Spurs last week, but now that movement seems to be going out, with consequences for a possible movement for Rodrygo.
It seems that Spurs is not willing to reach the asking price of the city, as Guillem Balague reports that City has decided that Savinho is not going anywhere. As he notes, this ends the chances of Rodrygo to get to the Premier League side this summer, because he would have been the replacement for the former Girona man.
City was probably willing to get the asking price from Rodrygo, which was somewhere between € 80 million and € 100 million, and had already drawn up an offer as soon as a deal had been agreed for Savinho to leave. It was reported everywhere that outputs for Savinho, James McATee and Jack Grealish were all necessary for a movement for Rodrygo, and that will not happen if things are outstanding.
The other two sides that are most closely linked to Rodrygo are Liverpool and Arsenal. The first have their eyes focused on Rodrygo, but only as an alternative if their move for Alexander Isak fails.
