Manchester United is close to securing the signing of Benjamin Sesko, which further strengthens the attacking options for head coach Ruben Amorim.
Sesko will arrive on the German side RB Leipzig, where he has spent over the past two years. ESPN reports that the deal will be worth a maximum of € 85 million ($ 98.8 million), including some easily feasible add-ons.
The Slovenian started his career at Red Bull Salzburg before switching to Leipzig in 2023. For two years in the Bundesliga he scored 27 goals in 64 performances.
Premier League rivals Newcastle United were also supposed to be hunting to Sesko, which made a series of bids made last month. But the player wanted to move to Old Trafford and reportedly accepted a lower salary in Manchester.
For a large part of the Summer United fans, United calls for a new center, even after the arrivals of Forwards Bryan Mbuemo and Matheus Cunha in the window earlier. Sesko is of a completely different profile than those two signing sessions, a long, powerful striker that still improves.
The next priority for Amorim will be to move part of the dead wood of the team. Marcus Rashford has already left for Barcelona for a one -year loan agreement. Chelsea stops their pursuit of Alejandro Garnacho, but United is supposed to want a fee that almost £ 60 million ($ 80.6 million) wants for the 21-year-old.
