Manchester United belongs to the contenders that complete a £ 30 million deal for Ipswich Town Striker Liam Delap such as Chelsea, Newcastle and Everton are all competing for the 22-year-old signature
Liam Delap has been set up to choose his future in particular after meeting interested clubs. In the coming days, the Ipswich Town will probably see ahead, confirm his departure from the club to stay in the Premier League.
The former Manchester City Youngster is available for £ 30 million, due to a relegation clause placed in his contract after he had moved to Portman Road last summer. Delap received permission from the tractor boys to hold discussions with lovers who are willing to stump that compensation.
Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Everton have all made their business to the 22-year-old striker and Delap now weighs his options. The transfer window will be opened for the first time this summer on 10 June.
The Red Devils are said to have agreed the framework of a deal for the young attacker, including an overview of personal conditions with Delap's representatives, as reported for the first time by ESPN. A deal could quickly move if the English Youth International would choose to move to Old Trafford.
Delap scored 12 goals in 36 games in his first Premier League season, because Ipswich could not prevent relegation. The reputation of the striker only grew after he had completed his £ 20 million relocation last summer.
Delap and his family have a good relationship with the technical director Jason Wilcox of United from their time together in Manchester City when Wilcox was in charge of youth teams. The ex-Blackburn midfielder worked throughout the Academy before he became the Academy director where he stayed until 2023.
Chelsea can also offer some fame for Delap, with ex-Manchester City Under-21 coach Enzo Maresca who was in charge of Stamford Bridge. Recruitment Director Joe Shield also worked at Etihad as part of the attitude of the Academy's Talent Management.
Earlier this season, Maresca spoke strongly about Delap. The head coach of the blues said: “In terms of numbers, he is doing fantastic. I think he scored 12 [Premier League] Goals already.
“It is not only in terms of his figures – [it’s] The way he plays and fights and is always there. But he is an Ipswich player. He is an enemy on Sunday because we have to beat them, and after the game I wish him the very best for the future.
“In the first game he was pretty good for them. We have to deal with that, and we have to do much, much better compared to the first game [the loss at Ipswich]. “
However, Everton -Baas David Moyes has not given up the hope of Landen of Delap. Last week he said: 'He spoke with three or four clubs and you know, he gave us the opportunity to pitch our business.
“We are probably a bit behind the black ball, but you never know what's happening.”
