Espanyol -goalkeeper Joan Garcia could be this season between relegation and survival for Los Pericos this season, that has been his contribution between the two sticks. Already on the radar of Europe's elite last season, Garcia quickly became one of the most coveted keepers on the market.
Arsenal was in a hot chase of Garcia last summer and made an offer of € 20 million for him, but Espanyol decided to refer the Gunners to his release clause. Currently € 25 million, it rises by € 5 million in the last 15 days of the transfer window and will rise by a further € 5 million if it is covered by Spain. Arsenal, however, has spent 'the best part of a year' with his camp and is expected to return for him this year.
In the meantime, it has been revealed that Barcelona has also taken note of its form in recent months, and he is one of the options on their own shortlist. Sport, however, explains that Espanyol would do everything to prevent Garcia from moving to their bitter rivals, and would demand all his release clause in advance, a measure that would probably close a deal in view of the salary limit of the Blaugrana. It should be noted that they have not moved to sign Garcia, only taken from his versions.
Manchester United is a side that has made a movement for Garcia. The same exhaust valve explains that the Red Devils have spoken to his agents about the possibility of a movement. Paris Saint-Germain is also linked to the 23-year-old, but Espanyol has not been aware of their interest so far. The Premier League is his most likely destination.
Manchester United was able to offer a good stuff competition for Arsenal in the race for Garcia's signature. It could be very good on which side he is willing to offer him a clearer path to football in the first team.
