Real Betis are looking at rock bottom in 2025, but Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping he has the spark to get their engine going again. Manchester United have agreed a loan deal with Los Verdiblancos to send Brazilian winger Antony to La Liga.
On Monday morning, Relevo reported that a deal had been agreed between the two clubs for a loan without an option to buy for Antony, with Ruben Amorim's green light being the only thing missing from the deal. It appears the Portuguese has signed, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that only signatures and a medical are missing to complete the move.
Betis will pay part of his wages until the end of the season, with Pellegrini hoping Antony can give them a jump in quality on the right wing. The former Ajax winger, who cost €91 million, is delighted with the idea of joining Betis and has accepted their offer over other available offers, including one from Villarreal.
Los Verdiblancos use Aitor Ruibal occasionally on the right, while Giovani Lo Celso and Isco are alternatives to come in from the right. However, Pellegrini has lacked more traditional wingers, and with the departure of Assane Diao, only Ez Abde and youngster Javi Rodriguez remain of that profile.
