Manchester United is ready to revise their underperforming squad in the summer transfer window and the club has been told who should be the first priority to sell
Alejandro Garnacho has to stop moaning about his situation at Manchester United and go elsewhere to prove that their struggles are not up to him. That is the opinion of the former United -midfielder Gordon Strachan, who encouraged the club to sell Garnacho at the earliest chance in the summer transfer window.
Garnacho is an unwilling participant in the tour after the season from United to Malaysia and Hong Kong and is desperate to leave the club after a miserable end of the season. United finished 15th in the Premier League and lost the Europa League final of Tottenham and will undergo a major overhaul of the team in the coming months.
The club listens to offers for all their players and mirror football that Ruben Amorim Garnacho has told that he does not appear in his plans. It comes after Garnacho reacted furiously on the bank in front of the Europa League final and was omitted from the team for the 2-0 victory of United on Aston Villa on the last day of the season.
Garnacho admitted that the season had been “S ***” and hinted during a summer room after the loss in Bilbao. In January he attracted interest from Chelsea and Napoli and the Italian club is expected to open conversations with United during a transfer soon.
That would be a good move for all parties involved, according to ex-manager Strachan, who struck Garnacho's attitude. “Garnacho has to go. I think he shows a lack of maturity and needs a real wake-up call. Manchester United is far too good of a club to listen to and always whining,” he told Esports Insider.
“You wonder what the players of Manchester United think of the actions of Alejandro Garnacho. He should take care of his teammates after they lost the Europa League final, not promote himself with his comments.
“If he doesn't want to be a team player, I think it's best that he just goes somewhere else. If the manager decides that he does not choose you, you have to think of the reason, and often that starts by looking at yourself.
Did you say! Do you agree with Gordon Strachan? Should Alejandro Garnacho be sold? Respond below.
“In life, the best thing you can do if something doesn't go your way, or you have problems, is to look at yourself and to think if it comes from you. It is rare that players take that attitude more and look at themselves before they whine about their problems.”
Napoli Sporting Director Giovanni Manna is said to meet United Officaries in the coming weeks to start the negotiation process on Garnacho. The Italian champions saw an £ 40 million offered in January and has been told that United appreciates the Argentina International with closer to £ 70 million.
The club hopes to obtain a considerable transfer costs, since the 20-year-old until June 2028 is under contract and he has contributed 11 goals and 10 assists in 58 games this season.
