Manchester United is reportedly prepared to stomp more than £ 50 million this summer to land the top defensive target Jarrad Branthwaite.
The sun claims that United bosses still like to sign Branthwaite, 22, despite the fact that Everton refuses to play Ball last summer.
Everton rejected two bids from United in the summer, including the second offer of £ 45 million plus £ 5 million in add-ons, because they wanted £ 70 million.
But Branthwaite, whose contract ends in 2027, is apparently willing to listen to Manchester United – one condition.
He will only move to Old Trafford if Ruben Amorim leads them to the Champions League, which he can do through the Europa League.
Branthwaite wants his next step to a Champions League club, he can show his talents to New England manager Thomas Tuchel at the highest level.
Branthwaite made his debut in England last year, but was excluded from Tuchel's first team for the World Cup qualifications of 2026 against Albania and Latvia.
Earlier this year, Mail Sport's Manchester United Confidential reported that United would turn away from a defensive signing of a big money and would opt for a cheaper option with potential.
However, that was before Lisandro Martinez sustained a seasonal ACL injury and put more doubts about his fitness on Long Temr.
Martinez had already missed large chunks of his first two seasons in Old Trafford because of an injury.
In January United extended the £ 190,000 a week of Harry Maguire contract until 2026 after his revival in shape.
However, because Maguire has turned 32 this month, United must have one eye on the next generation of defensive talent.
They did stop over the feasibility of an offer on Branthwaite in January, but eventually arrived their wallets.
Instead, they spent £ 29.4 million on Wing-back Patrick Dorgu and a rather modest £ 1 million to Ayden Heaven of Arsenal.
Heaven, 18, only recently made his entire Premier League debut, but had to be stretched after being injured in the 3-0 victory in Leicester City.
During the summer, Lille's Leny Yoro signed for £ 52.2 million, and Matthijs de Ligt was purchased from Bayern Munich for £ 38.5 million plus £ 4.2 million in add-ons, which means that the center of the center is considerably bulged.
But Branthwaite is still seen as a player with a high potential who can be an important future piece of the puzzle in Amorim's back, three go ahead.
Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof both no longer have a contract at the end of the season.
The fundamental problem that United is confronted is the need to sell players to generate necessary funds to buy new ones.
