Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been restored as the first team of Barcelona after a short disciplinary saga, the club confirmed on Friday.
The dispute began when the keeper refused to allow Barcelona's medical services to submit his post-surgical report to Laliga, as a result of which the club asked him of the bracelet and open disciplinary procedures.
By keeping the medical report, Barca was unable to register new signing sessions because of the strict financial fair play rules from Laliga.
If Ter Stegen's recovery lasted more than four months, 80 percent of his wages could have been allocated for new players such as Joan Garcia.
Shortly thereafter, Ter Stegen issued a reconciling public statement, with which he emphasized his dedication to the club and explained that all signing sessions were closed before his operation, Debunking claims that his absence released the way for new transfers.
It said: 'In recent months, I have been particularly difficult for me, both physically and personally. Like every player, after an injury, my only priority has always been to return to the field as quickly as possible, only motivated by the desire to help the team and to do what I love most: compete.
'In the past few weeks, many things have been said about me – some of them have not been founded at all. That is why I think it is necessary to express my version of the events respectfully, but clearly.
'The decision to undergo surgery was taken after consultation with medical professionals and fully approved by the club, and always with the intention of giving priority to my health and long -term sports career that are of course fully tailored to that of FCB to have myself available on the field as quickly as possible to continue to win trophies.
'Moreover, I publicly announced the minimum recovery timing that I needed afterwards, which was communicated to me by the most renowned experts and always in coordination with the club.
'I would also like to clarify – in the light of a certain speculation – that all signing sessions and contract innovations of the club were completed before my operation, and that is why I could not consider that my unfortunate circumstances with the new operation that I had to undergo would be needed for the registration of other colleagues who respected and overlook a lot to share. Every alternative interpretation seems to me both unfair and inaccurate.
'During my career I have always tried to support myself with professionalism, respect and dedication to the badges that I have represented. I have a deep affection for FC Barcelona, this city and her supporters, who have been assisting me for so many years. My dedication to these colors remains absolutely.
'I understand that difficult moments can generate tension, but I trust that we can constructively resolve this situation through dialogue and responsibility. I am fully willing to work with the management of the club to resolve this issue and to provide the requested authorization.
“Much has changed, but one thing will never do that: I love you, Culers!”
After his gesture, Barcelona confirmed that the disciplinary procedure was closed and that Ter Stegen would resume his role as a captain with immediate effect.
The statement was: 'FC Barcelona reports that Marc-Andre ter Stegen signed the authorization for the club's medical services to process the compulsory medical report in La Liga after his operation.
“The disciplinary file is closed and the player restores the captain of the first team with immediate effect.”
Ter Stegen has been a Barcelona stablewart since his move from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2014.
In the time that he made 422 performances, with six Laliga titles, a Champions League and several domestic cups in the process.
