Aston Villa is considering a beautiful late move for Manchester United Want-Away Marcus Rashford.
Rashford, 27, hopes to leave United before Transfer Deadline Day on Monday after he confirmed last month that he is ready for a 'new challenge'. Rode Devils manager Ruben Amorim has omitted Rashford from his team for the last 12 games, making it clear that, unless the approach of the English international to train changes, he will remain frozen.
Villa is looking for a new attacker while Jhon Duran is preparing to complete his mega moving of € 77 million (£ 64.5 million) to Saudi-Arab side Al-Nassr. EMI Buendia has also become a member of the German champions Bayer Leverkusen on loan.
The athletic report that Villa Baas Unai Emery personally asked the club to have conversations about Rashford, with the Spaniard as a big fan of him. Emery believes that he can help Rashford rediscover his best form in Villa Park.
Rashford's preference was to become a member of La Liga Giants Barcelona or to stay in United, so he probably needed a little convincingly to become a member of Villa. His wage can also be a bottleneck, because Rashford currently earns £ 325,000 a week after signing a long-term contract after his 30-goal season in 2023.
In anticipation of the 2-0 Europa League victory of United to FCSB, Amorim said about Rashford: “Our team should be so much better with Rashford. But he has to change. If he changes, we are more than welcome to a talent like Rashford to place and we need it.
“At the moment I think it is really clear that we have to set a number of particular standards. We are waiting for Marcus, if he really wants it very much. You try to make it something personal, but it's not personal, I have Nothing against Marcus.
“The situation is the same for every player and the last time I spoke about that in the last game was my sense that I would not post a player who doesn't give the maximum. I didn't say I wouldn't post Marcus Rashford so it's the same situation If I feel this is the right time, I will play every player.
“We are a better team with Rashford and that is clear. He is a great talent, but I will not change my mind to the right moment, that is all and it is always the same answer.”
Villa is also linked to a move to Chelsea Forward Joao Felix. In the meantime, the villains have also rejected an offer of Arsenal to sign Spits Ollie Watkins in the midst of Duran's approaching departure.
