Marcus Rashford’s reaction to Man Utd transfer plan speaks volumes as saga turns toxic

Marcus Rashford is unhappy that Manchester United have informed clubs of his possible availability.

For the third time in a week, the attacker was left out of the selection by Ruben Amorim. The new manager opted not to include Rashford in the Manchester derby victory eight days ago, citing issues with his attitude and the way he interacted with his teammates.

The Englishman has since given an interview in which he expressed his desire to take on a “new challenge”. The MEN reports that people close to Rashford have accused United of informing clubs of his availability and that he was unaware of the developments.

The United frontman is a top earner at the club but has struggled to achieve results. His goals have dried up and with Amorim in charge and likely to bring in his own players next summer, Rashford's departure seems more likely than him staying.

The Manchester outfit have not yet made a final decision on whether or not they will sell Rashford and sources say there have been no specific discussions with agents about his departure, although they admit it is likely the Rashford situation was mentioned, given the rumors surrounding his future. .

Gary Neville admitted he was no longer surprised Rashford was overlooked as his latest criticism of the Bournemouth defeat. “Rashford's absence is not really a surprise anymore,” he said. “It's something of the norm. If you leave him out on the bounce for three games, something is really going wrong or something has gone wrong.

“It doesn't look great for either Marcus' future at the club or for Manchester United to keep him. I suspect we're getting to the point in the journey where there's an inevitable end.”

Amorim has publicly urged Rashford to reach the level he once showed and has insisted the club are better off with him. He said: “We have a new challenge here and it is a tough one, it is the biggest challenge in football because we are in a difficult situation. This is really a new challenge. I hope all my players are ready for this new challenge.

“I just want to win and help the team get better, so we are better with Marcus Rashford. That's simple: we are trying different things to get Marcus to the best level he has shown in the past.”
