Enzo Maresca has blamed the post-match celebrations of Chelsea against Nottingham Forest for their slow start in the UEFA Conference League final against Real Betis.
The blues completed a historic set of European trophies after having fought 4-1 with 4-1 on Wednesday evening with one goal from one goal.
Although Chelsea was electric in the second half, their performance was fainting before the break and resulted in full-back Malo Gusto that was replaced during the break.
After the game, Maresca discussed the slow start of Chelsea and attributed them to their parties after beating Forest and qualifying for the Champions League.
With TNT Sports, Maresca said: 'I think we approached the game in the wrong way. I expected it a bit because happiness was too much after Nottingham.
“So we struggled a bit to start, but in the second half we were much better.”
Furthermore, pressed on the problems that his side was confronted with, he explained: 'Happiness and a little fatigue. We had 48 hours less than she did.
“They played for nothing on Friday. We played on Sunday for a big target. But in the second half we were much better '.
The blues boss was then questioned about the decision to drop Gusto – and replaced him by club captain Reece James – with interval.
Maresca said: 'Malo is one of my favorite players. The problem is, the first goal we admitted was because he missed the pass.
'But they are young and they understand that if you make a mistake, you have to continue. For me he is a top player '.
It was Betis who opened the score in the ninth minute of the game, after a well -tackled strike by Abdessamad Ezzalzouli flew past Filip Jorgensen.
The blues of Enzo Maresca fought for a reaction in the rest of the first half – but remained frustrated because they could not find an answer.
Malo Gusto was selected as one of the wrestling stars of Chelsea and was replaced by club captain Reece James in an attempt to claw back in the game.
Although it took longer than they had wanted, they did that exactly in the 65th minute after Enzo Fernandez nodded home from a floating Cole Palmer Cross.
The momentum waved in favor of Chelsea and only six minutes later they were ahead when Palmer again scored a goal from scratch and donated a header of six meters for Nicolas Jackson to end.
Jadon Sancho added a third with a curly effort before Moises Caicedo ended the score in extra time.
