Jadon Sancho has an uncertain future in which Chelsea can pay a fine to prevent their obligation to secure a permanent transfer of Manchester United this summer
Chelsea -Baas Enzo Maresca has revealed that every decision about the future of Jadon Sancho will only come after the final of the UEFA Conference League. The Blues coach was steadfast in his conviction that the club's focus should stay on finding success against real betis.
Maresca has included Sancho in his team to take on the Spanish side in Wroclaw, because he offers to earn the first trophy of the club since the World Cup title in 2022. The winger has scored one goal and produced five assists in the competition on the way to the final.
Sancho joined Chelsea on loan at the start of the Manchester United season. The deal included the condition that the club would be obliged to make the deal permanent for £ 25 million if they finish higher than 14th in the division.
The Leenlee celebrated the qualification of the Champions League of West -Londen after the victory over Nottingham Forest on Sunday. However, Sancho may not enjoy that journey, with Chelsea having the opportunity to refrain from his signing.
The side of Maresca can pay a fine of £ 5 million to see Sancho return to Old Trafford this summer. And the Italian coach was uncertain whether the match against Betis could be the last match of the former Borussia Dortmund star for Chelsea.
“I don't know,” said Maresca. “I said you asked me to different players in recent weeks, I always said the same thing. And the reason why it is the truth.
“It's not the moment, we have the final tomorrow. Then in 24 hours, 48 hours we will talk about the future. But at the moment no thought or decision has been made about Jadon or other players.”
Maresca hopes that his side can continue their positive end of the season. Chelsea has been favorites to win the Conference League since the start of the season and the head coach wants to teach a winning mentality in his team with victory over Betis.
“The conference is important,” he said. “It has been important for us since day one. And the reason why it is because it is the competition in which we are. We cannot play a Champions League when we are in the conference. Or we cannot play Europe. We are in the conference. So for us it was the most important competition.
“And we have to try to win that. If we can win, I think it's a good thing. Especially because we continue to build the winner's mentality. As I often said, there is only one way to build a winning mentality. You can't build a winner -mentality if you don't win games. I think we've won many games this season. But it's not enough.
“The Sunday game is completed. We qualified. We are all happy. But tomorrow we have to show the desire again to win the title and win the game.”
