Maresca ‘trials Chelsea star in new role’ as he gets creative with £50m signing

Chelsea -Baas Enzo Maresca reportedly ruined one of his player's positions in an attempt to find a place for the star.

Since the reins on Stamford Bridge last summer, Maresca has led the club to victory in the Conference League and sent back to the Champions League.

However, after having inherited a bloated team at his appointment and with even more new arrivals during his term of office, a number of costs acquired stars have struggled minutes.

One of the players who are lost in the Shuffle is France International Christopher Nunku.

Noekunku, signed for £ 53 million in the summer of 2023, had been productive in back-to-back Bundesliga campaigns with RB Leipzig.

A knee injury suffered during a pre-season game, but his involvement limited and he was ultimately limited to only 14 performances in all competitions in his first season in West London.

In the Premier League last season, Nunku was largely limited to the appearance of the bank, and he is expected to leave for Weilen this summer.

Although it seems that his time in the club is coming to an end, reports from France suggest that Maresca had experimented with the use of Nunku deeper.

According to L'Equipe, the 27-year-old has often played in the defensive midfield during training sessions, a movement described as possible as a means to test the character strength of Nunku.

The move is also an experiment on behalf of Maresca to see if the talents of Nunku can be adapted to a more defensive role, similar to Joelinton in Newcastle under Eddie Howe.

The report also suggests that this summer Nunku is enthusiastic about the hope in the hope of being able to find out in the plans of Didier Deschamps for next summer's world cup in North America.

It is said that Manchester United and Inter Milan have asked initial questions regarding the striker, although neither of the clubs have achieved an official approach.
