Marseille could assemble a strike force of Manchester United castaways as they reportedly look to unite Marcus Rashford with Mason Greenwood.
The French side are understood to have made contact over a loan deal for Rashford but face competition from across Europe.
Rashford sent a 'get-me-now' shout to clubs across Europe last month when he admitted he is 'ready for a new challenge' away from Old Trafford.
Barcelona is seen as his preferred destination, while Borussia Dortmund and Juventus have also held talks with his representatives.
But Marseille could make an attractive offer as the Mediterranean club are second in Ligue 1 under Roberto De Zerbi.
French newspaper L'Equipe reports that they have asked for Rashford, but are also interested in Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel.
With Rashford's wages estimated to be around £350,000 per week, negotiations would need to take place over the amount of financial burden Marseille would take on.
Respected financial data website Capology claims Adrien Rabiot is Marseille's highest-paid star on just over £100,000 a week.
Marseille have proven to be a goal goldmine for Greenwood, with the 23-year-old scoring 13 times in 20 games.
He was charged with attempted rape, assault and controlling and coercive behavior in October 2022, but the charges and the case were dropped in February 2023 when key witnesses withdrew and 'new material came to light'.
Last season United subsidized Greenwood's wages while he was on loan at Getafe and they did the same for Jadon Sancho at Borussia Dortmund.
Rashford has not played since early December after United boss Ruben Amorim dropped him for the Manchester derby.
It is believed United's preference is to make a permanent move for Rashford in a £40million deal rather than a loan.
Mail Sport previously revealed that Tottenham are among the clubs that also have an interest in Rashford.
Rashford expressed his desire to leave for Henry Winter last month, saying: 'For me personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps.
'If I leave, it will be 'no hard feelings'. You won't get any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That's me as a person.
'If I know a situation is already bad, I'm not going to make it worse.
“I've seen other players leave in the past and I don't want to be that person.
“When I leave, I will make a statement and it will be mine.”
When asked if he would always be a Red man through and through, Rashford – who was at the club from the age of seven and made his debut in 2016 – replied: 'Yes! 100%. 100%.'
