Marseille target move for Liverpool defender, with Reds aiming to further boost £217m made from sales this summer

Marseille is the newest club that shows interest in the Greek left back Kostas Tsimikas from Liverpool.

The Reds have already made an impressive £ 217 million of the sale of players during a summer of extraordinary change in the club.

It is still to be seen what kind of reimbursement would be demanded for TSIMIKAS, who spent five years at Anfield as a backup of Andy Robertson.

But French giants Marseille are interested in signing the 29-year-old, which is considered a stylistic fit for the Roberto de Zerbi system.

Leeds was previously interested, although that has cooled, while Nottingham Forest also keeps an eye on him.

Tsimikas was omitted outside the MatchDay team for the defeat of Liverpool's Community Shield by Crystal Palace.

And he suffered the same fate for the Premier League opener, when Arne Slot chose to leave him away from the group again.

Given the signing of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, Tsimikas is now behind the new first choice and Robertson.

Knowing his playing time will be enormously limited, Tsimikas probably seems to be leaving the next chapter of his career from MerseSide.

Tsimikas, who is lovingly known as the 'Greek scouser', joined Liverpool for a fee of approximately £ 11.7 million from Olympiacos in 2020.

Perhaps his most famous moment was in a Liverpool shirt when he helped Liverpool when reaching FA Cup Glory in 2022, which took the decisive fine during the final of Liverpool against Chelsea.

He was a competent Understudy for Robertson in the past term and if that season would indeed be his last, the left back, both fans and teammates would be remembered.

In the meantime, Marseille has offered both Jonathan Rowe and Adrien Rabiot for sale after a bust dressing room.

The couple succeeded after the Zerbi men lost from 10-man Rennes during the opening weekend of Ligue 1.

Quentin Merlin has already left Marseille and replaces Adrien Truffert at Rennes, so there is a need for reinforcements on the back and TSIMIAS could fit into the account.
