Manchester United is reportedly aimed at Emiliano Martinez and has been told that the arrival of Argentinian no. 1 could cause more signing sessions to illuminate the frustration of Ruben Amorim
Manchester United has been told that the signing of Emiliano Martinez could activate a series of newcomers. The Argentinian goalkeeper is expected to leave Aston Villa this summer after he seemed to wave an emotional farewell to fans after the last home game of the club of the season.
Since then, reports have emerged that the Red Devils are monitoring a movement for the World Cup winner while they want to rebuild under Ruben Amorim. It has been claimed that Martinez, 32 years old, would rather become a member of United after he is also linked to Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray and teams in the Saudi Pro League.
The United team will undergo an important revision this summer after ending their worst ever Premier League season when they finished 15th. According to the Daily Star, however, the Portuguese head coach of the club is impatient with the lack of action of his bosses in the transfer market.
United has made only one signing since the end of the season after securing the services of Brazilian attacker Matheus Cunha for an amount of £ 62.5 million from Wolves. They are also supposed to focus Brentford on Bryan Mbeumo and Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres, but Amorim has frustrated it to complete such deals.
But ex-sizing goalkeeper Ben Foster believes that there is still hope after he suggests that bringing in a player of Martinez's quality would encourage others to follow.
The former Watford and Wrexham-Shot Stopper have expressed his opinion, despite the fact that he suggests that United will probably not challenge at the top of the table next season.
“That is a good move for Man United and it will be a huge miss [for Aston Villa] “Foster said on his 'fozcast' podcast.” If they sign him, I think it enables United to bend their muscles and get a few big boys.
“Mbeumo has already been spoken and Cunha is already through the door. But I don't think they will be challenging somewhere in the vicinity. Even the top ten will be a struggle for them this season.”
When asked what MARTINEZ would motivate to leave Villa, who finished sixth in the table, he added: “What Man United has presented for others is a global attraction.
“If he signs for Manchester United, everything is just bumped and his wage goes up. He will certainly go somewhere, because no one else on the field is crying at the end of the season.”
Every movement for Martinez probably sees him replacing Andre Onana as the first-choice goalkeeper of United. Onana has made a series of mistakes since he came to the club and recently talked about rumors about his future, and says Afrik-Foot: “Will I leave? I don't know, we'll see.”
Martinez currently has four years on the five -year contract that he signed with Villa in 2024. If he becomes a member of United, he could find at least two familiar faces at Old Trafford in international teammates Lisandro Martinez and Alejandro Garnacho.
