Marvin Vettori vs Roman Dolidze 2 UFC Vegas 104 result: Rematch ends in heartbreak for returning star

Marvin Vettori returned to the Octagon after almost two years inactivity on Saturday evening, but dropped to the Scorecards to Roman Dolidze in their long -awaited Rematch.

Almost two years ago, the couple participated in a narrow confrontation in the O2 Arena in London who took the Italian Vettori by decision. Since that night, Vettori has only competed once to lose the fight of the night to Jared Cannonier, while Dolidze got out three times and could mount a two-win run.

Both men ended up around the edge of the middleweight division, but knew that a victory could immediately fire the ranking. Vettori's most important telephone card was a place in the top ten, which he maintained despite inactivity.

Marvin Vettori succeeded in waiting for Roman Dolidze in hilarious circumstances during his ring walk when it came forward during the last checks he had not set up his cup in the back. Eventually the couple came together and both threw great strength into the early exchanges.

Oogpokes were a great concern for referee Herb Dean who was on his way to the second, but within a few seconds he had caused a cessation with a flagrant error.

He was somehow allowed with a warning despite the past few weeks of controversy, including the UFC Seattle Demies of Henry Cejudo against Song Yadong, which was almost completely caused by an eye cook.

The third was explosive because both men were injured by the half point, with Vettori mainly catching his rival in the earlier part of the round. But it seemed clear that the Italians were more fresh boxing everywhere.

Towards the end of the fourth, it seemed that Dolidze was in the predominance and that his rival might fade. But Vettori pushed forward in the fifth and searched for a rare finish, so he finally took a low stroke and took a temporary break.

With seconds to go, both men pushed to the interruption, Lande Dolidze more with its high output. But it didn't come and again the score cards were needed to explain the winner 49-46 on all three.
