Mascherano confirms Messi is available as Inter Miami return to MLS

After an ambitious show in the club World Cup, Inter Miami shifts their focus back to the ultimate goal: conquering Major League Soccer. The team continued with a heavy group with Al Ahli, Porto and Palmeiras, but their journey ended in the round of 16 with a hard-fought loss for the European Champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Now it is back to MLS Business – and the club dreams great.

Javier Mascherano, who spoke to the press, confirmed that Lionel Messi will be available for this weekend's collision and emphasized the positive collection restaurants of their international experience.

Macherano Proud of Inter Miami's Club World Cup campaign

“We went toe to toe with the best teams in the world. That level of competition gave us invaluable lessons,” said Mascherano. “Although we are still dealing with a few injuries, the team is ready to concentrate again.”

Inter Miami travels to the north on Saturday 5 July to be confronted to CF Montréal, kicking off before 7:30 pm Est. The competition is an important opportunity to climb the classification of the Eastern Conference and to get the title campaign back on track.

Head Coach Javier Mascherano offered a candid view of the team's selection and emphasized that although he is proud of the current team, the lack of reinforcements has taken a toll – especially at the elite level of competition.

“I don't like to respect the players we have, I am proud of this group,” he said. “But going into the club in the club with so many injuries has certainly hurt us. At this level it is difficult to keep rhythm, consistency and focus with such a short bank.”

Inter Miami wants to strengthen the most important areas

The Argentinian acknowledged that he has spoken all his thoughts about possible signing sessions to the Front Office.

“I had conversations with the club and shared what I think the team needs. No reinforcements have been brought in and you have to ask the people for that,” he said emphatically. “It is my job to coach the players I have and to build the best team I can. Everyone has to handle their own responsibilities.”
