Matheus Cunha has paid tribute to Wolves and their fans, closing to a move to Manchester United. The Brazilian has been a huge hit in Molineux and helps the club to steer freely from a relegation fight.
Cunha was linked to an output in January, but later drew a new deal, which brought each speculation to bed, but his contract contained a release clause that will be activated this summer. Red Devil's Boss Ruben Amorim sees him as the ideal addition to his attack.
The Wolves star continued to perform despite talking about his exit and has scored the same as most goals in a Premier League season by a Brazilian. Cunha found the back of the net 15 times and paid tribute to the club's fan base.
He admitted that they were not aware of the heights that the supporters deserved, but his personal exploits came because of the “dedication and love” he has for wolves – even though he possibly played his last game for the club.
Cunha said on social media: “Wolves, what can I say to you? What an incredible season. We didn't come where you deserve to be, but we have done everything to make you proud. I love these guys.
“Individual it was the best season of my life. All this was only possible because of all the dedication and love I have for this club. I became the Brazilian with the most goals in a Premier League season, along with @roberto_firmino and @gabriel.Martinelli. I made mistakes and I delivered this club like this.
“The only thing I ever wanted was to do it impossible for wolves. Another is over. And thanks all for all affection. Looks good, looks good …”
United now seems to be set to add Cunha to their ranks. Despite missing the Champions League, it is clear that they still have the finances to pursue the Brazilian. They must desperately strengthen their front line, such as Rasmus Hojlund, which is still impressed.
Despite reports of an agreement between the attacker and United Vorror Pereira, has remained cautious about his future: “I have the same information as you. I don't know. I just know he is my player.
