Matheus Cunha touches a £ 62.5 million transfer to Manchester United with his upcoming arrival, but the role of Mason Mount has been questioned by this
Manchester United has been told that Matheus Cunha “is exactly what they need” as a £ 62.5 million move of wolves edges and closer. The Brazilian already has an agreement with the Red Devils if the financial data is thrown away.
Cunha has been a leading light in Molineux and helps them away from a relegation scrap. The attacker was crucial for their revival in shape during 2025, but will now be the first signing of Ruben Amorim's summer conversion.
The Wolves star will compliment the 3-4-3 system that is implemented in Manchester with ex-red devil Louis Saha who has all the properties and temperament to succeed in one of the world's largest clubs.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot previously claimed that Cunha was more than able to play for one of the top sides of the Premier League and after a season of 15 goals Saha believes that he will be a smart addition.
He said 10bet: “Matheus Cunha is exactly what United needs. He has speed and endurance. He is unpredictable and he is powerful. He has legs, he has skills, he has the right posture.
“He works hard, but he is also creative. He gives the opponents headache to try to solve the problems he argues. He can be decisive and he can cut the Premier League. He has already shown that he is good enough. Not only that, I think he can handle the pressure, and he is versatile enough to play in midfield or the front line.”
Saha hinted that Cunha could come in and replace Mason Mount, who struggled during his time in Manchester for shape and fitness. The former Chelsea man has joined a substantial fee, but is unable to have the desired impact and could lose.
“That is the kind of player that United needs,” said Saha. “If you look at Mason Mount, who had bad luck with injuries, but he does not operate space like Cunha. Mount finds space, but he is not dangerous in the pockets when he finds them. It is disappointing from such a big signature.”
United is set at a revision after a terrible season. They will be without Europe next year, but have acted on the market quickly and, in addition to Cunha, take steps to land Liam Delap from Ipswich in the midst of competition from Chelsea.
