Max Holloway makes surprising request ahead of UFC 318 title clash against Dustin Poirier… ‘It’s kind of ridiculous’

Max Holloway made a request to the UFC later this month prior to his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier on UFC 318.

On July 19, Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier will collide for the third time when they meet at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans for the BMF title in the UFC 318 Main Event.

In anticipation of their legendary trilogy fight, the most important point of discussion is about how this will be the last fight of Poirier in the sport, and UFC boss Dana White has labeled him as an 'all time that the entire event has built around him.

Holloway hopes to take the trend of their first two fights, because Poirier is 2-0 against 'blessed', after he has almost torn his arm in his UFC debut and then beat him for the interim title in 2019.

Max Holloway makes a request for UFC for UFC 318 Clash

'The Diamond' has plagued that a potentially epic strike is on the cards for his last walk to the cage on July 19 and claims that he will be run away by rap legend, Lil Wayne.

However, the former UFC -Fedweight Champion made a slightly different request from the UFC prior to their BMF title collision.

The Hawaiian has asked that he has been removed from the rankings of the featherweight, because he is still bizarre number one arranged in the division, despite the fact that he has made his permanent relocation up to 155 pounds.

Holloway's last collision at Featherweight met Ilia Topuria on UFC 308 when he was first eliminated in his career.

“I don't know what you think to keep my number one there, because that's a bit ridiculous, I'm not going back to 145 pounds, I am over it and it feels good, it feels great on them days where you go harder, can recover well with meals and eating a little more proteins, it is much better than just Holloway Mmajunkie said.

“It's ridiculous, I don't understand. The ranking, but I don't get it, the rankings are everywhere. We go back to the Gaethje -fight and Gaethje was the number one competition when I fought against him at 155 pounds and he was something at that time in the course of the four or five?

“I certainly thought that if the rankings came out, I would not come to number nine, that's just ridiculous … The rankings are everywhere,” he continued.

Holloway hoping to prevent bad luck in UFC trilogies

This is not the first trilogy that Holloway will be involved in his UFC official period, because he and Alexander Volkanovski were involved in a classic trilogy in featherweight.

Unfortunately in that one 'blessed' 0-3 went against 'the great' and he wants to avoid the same result against Poirier.

“Writing history is great, but I don't try to be the man who fought two trilogies and 0-3,” Holloway continued.
