At UFC 318, Max Holloway will try to retire one of his biggest opponents.
Dustin Poirier is planned for an emotional broadcast on July 19, but of course there is a good chance that he will run away from the sport behind a different loss.
Although Holloway himself has questions to answer after he had stopped in his last fight, 'blessed' did not have the same kind of pressure on his shoulders prior to this weekend.
He is booked in this matchup because he fits Poirier's dream to tackle a colleague legend of the sport for his home fans in Louisiana.
Dana White recently closed every idea that he should provide Holloway the same treatment, even if the former Federweight champion already has a plan in mind.

At UFC 240, Max Holloway had a point to prove when defending his featherweight title for the third time.
After he had just been beaten by Dustin Poirier at lightweight, there were questions about how that would influence him for his return to 145 pounds.
Holloway answered those questions by beating Frankie Edgar Dominant before he continued his playful rivalry with Daniel Cormier when he was asked to compete in different divisions.
“Ay, if they need a heavyweight for 'DC' next week, let me know. Daddest man on the planet, you will get it.”
Although he has been joking about Cormier for some time, Holloway calls Ilia Topuria while his other dream -opponent, shows how much he wants to face the current champion in a rematch.
