Max Holloway reacts to Alexander Volkanovski’s UFC 314 title win against Diego Lopes

Alexander Volkanovski conquered a pretty insurmountable task on Saturday evening, in which the UFC -Fedweight title was reclaimed on UFC 314.

After having suffered back-to-back KO losses against Islam Makhachev and Ilia Topuria, fans were worried about the future of Alexander Volkanovski and whether he could bounce back.

Nevertheless, 'The Great' Volkanovski became the first hunter in the history of UFC who won a title of more than 35 years out of 155 pounds and lighter when he did a vintage performance against Diego Lopes.

Volkanovski had to overcome adversity in the fight when he was brought down early, and also lost his eyes in the later rounds, somehow in the fight.

Max Holloway responds to his former enemy who regains the featherweight title

During the first title line of the Australian, he had three incredible fights against former champion, Max Holloway, in which Volkanovski all won.

Although he has moved 'blessed' Holloway to the lightweight division since their three classic fights, he still kept a close eye on the UFC 314 main event.

Holloway uploaded a video to his YouTube channel, in which he saw the fight live and offered his live reaction to the promotion in Miami.

“That was a really good fight,” Holloway responded immediately after the last horn.

“I just thought, that's what Alex would do. Be smart, land are points and are not being sucked up. I think Alex won four rounds, one, two, three and then the fifth,” Holloway claimed.

On the official score cards, Volkanovski was four round on two of the jury members' scorecards, and the third judge only had one round ahead.

“They told him he wouldn't get it back. The eye of Lopes was caught, I didn't even notice that during the fight,” said Holloway.

Volkanovski is now only one victory removed from the record of Jose Aldo from eight title extraction in the featherweight division.

“Animal. Animal. He is about to catch up (until Aldo), another one,” Holloway continued.

Max Holloway tells about who the next one can be for Volkanovski

With people who have already defeated several of the featherweight contenders during his first title line, there are not many hunters with whom he still has to be confronted.

Immediately after his fight, however, the champion claimed that he would like to return as soon as July, possibly Movsar Evloev.

Nevertheless, Yair Rodriguez, who also picked up an impressive victory over the UFC 314 head card, was hoping that he has done enough to justify a Rematch against Volkanovski.

“I don't know (who is the next). Yair but Yair is a rematch. Movsar but I don't know if they give Movsar a title shot. Maybe they give Aaron Pico a high (in the ranking) so that they can try to speed up Aaron Pico.

“What a night with fighting, man. Really great. Good to see people go and creating some history, making some records, always happy to see. It is always good to see that a former rival is doing their thing, we are not even rivals man, it is all love,” Holloway said.
