Max Holloway's name was debuted in the UFC in 2012 and is everywhere in the record books of the promotion.
On UFC 318, Holloway earned his first victory over Dustin Poirier and defeated the man who welcomed him in the Octagon with a loss of submission.
'Blessed' held the BMF title and recovered from a difficult loss of previous time out on UFC 308, where he could not recapture the belt of featherweight.
Talk quickly turned to what the next will be for Holloway after he played his role in giving 'The Diamond' an emotional latest dance in New Orleans.
Although Holloway has set his sights on a rematch with Ilia Topuria, there is still a former opponent who can be the next.
Max Holloway connects Charles Oliveira's record to achieve the second most victories in the history of UFC
Max Holloway revealed before UFC 318 that a large source of motivation was for him to avoid 0-3 in the two trilogies that took place in his UFC career.
His first victory over Dustin Poirier meant that 'blessed' now has 27 victories to his name, with 23 of those who took place under the UFC banner after he had only signed 4-0 in the promotion.
The successful BMF title defense of Holloway has jointly put him for most victories in the UFC history, with only one other active hunter having the same statistics associated with their career.
Both 'blessed' and Charles Oliveira are four victories removed from matching Jim Miller's current record of 27, which he could extend in the near future after a loss earlier this year.
The two former champions were confronted with in August 2015, where Holloway won a victory in his first UFC Main event and 'Do Bronx' stopped in the first round after the Brazilian had sustained an injury.
With Oliveira who also comes from a loss for Ilia Topuria, and as a viable competition for the BMF belt, this is perhaps the perfect time to let it fall back, especially if 'El Matador' will be busy with other challengers.
Both Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira are the only active hunters bound by the second most victories in the UFC history on 23 🤯

On UFC 318 he landed 198 important strikes on Dustin Poirier, according to UFC Stats, which is the most that he has included in one of his last six outings.
It can be at some distance from its current data, but it has also expanded its lead for having the most important and total strikes in the UFC history.
He also connects to the UFC hunter with most time in the Octagon, as second behind Rafael Dos Anjos, about just 16 minutes behind the Brazilian at 8:27:43 in total.
