Many nice fights are waiting for Max Holloway in the UFC Lightweight Division.
The BMF champion shocked the world when he moved from the featherweight division and switched off Justin Gaethje to win the BMF title on UFC 300.
Holloway is 1-1 as a lightweight, after he has lost a unanimous decision of a short notice to Dustin Poirier in 2019. This broke a 13-Vecht profit treak for Holloway and crushed his dreams to become a two-division champion.
Now Holloway gets the chance to avenge the loss in a trilogy fight with Poirier on UFC 318 on July 19, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Although a rematch with a new lightweight champion Ilia Topuria is the ultimate goal for Holloway, a legendary referee says that there is a better fight for 'blessed' post Poirier.

John McCarthy claims that hooker Max Holloway's 'best overall fight' is at lightweight
'Big' John McCarthy has presented a potentially BMF title fight between Holloway and the always exciting than hooker.
Hooker is currently at #7 in the UFC Lightweight Division and has won four of his last five fights at Lightweight, with his only loss for former champion Islam Makhachev.
Hooker has three combat-of-the-night bonuses, one of his last victory against top candidate Mateusz Gamrot at UFC 305. He also has a fight-of-the-year-party participant against Poirier from 2021.
“If I would choose the man I think it would best take over general fight with Max, it would be hooker,” McCarthy said about roads in podcast.
“Because then Hooker is a crazy animal that just comes forward and throws.
“His fight with Poirier is still one of the best damn fights. If you look at what was going on, it was just crazy. It's just a shame that it wasn't for a crowd because they would have been crazy.
Is he modern times, [Donald] 'Cowboy' Cerrone? “Co-host Josh Thomson asked.
“Absolutely,” replied the experienced referee.
“Then Hooker, he wants to fight everyone. I want to fight next week. I want to fight next month. I want to fight until he gets injured, and then he is smart enough to say hey, I have to heal.
“Cowboy is the same on the microphone, but when he is in the back, he is like, why I do this -and then he goes out and he fights, and he fights great. They are very much on top of each other. That really makes people like Dan hooker.”
John McCarthy says that Arman Tsarukyan has to fight against Ilia Topuria
Uncertainty is at the top of the UFC Lightweight Division.
There are three contenders apparently in line for a title fight with the newly crowned Ilia Topuria: Arman Tsarukyan, Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett.
During the press conference after the fight, UFC Dana White said that Tsarukyan had to fight again for withdrawing from his UFC 311 main event against Islam Makhakev and also expressed his aversion to Pimblett's face-off with Topuria and Gaethje who retired if he did not get a title fight.
Tsarukyan, the #1 competition, made championship weight as an official backup hunter for the UFC 317 Main Event.
Despite the fact that he has to fight again, McCarthy believes that Tsarukyan deserves a title shot with back-to-back victories over Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush.
“Tsaryuukyan, he is the man who really earns that next shot on the title,” said McCarthy.
“He made weight because he was the alternative.
“I believe he will get the next shot, but then I could see Max,” McCarthy added.
