Barcelona will end the season with a domestic treble, and if they do, it must have been a remarkable campaign. And there will be busy building on this in the future, what they will hope to do with the help of the transfer market.
Things will be difficult this summer because of their well -documented financial problems, but there must still be opportunities to add to the Hansi Flick team. And the man who will do this is Barcelona Sporting Director Deco.
Speaking on Tuesday (via MD), Deco hinted in a part of Flick's Squad that he would like to strengthen.
“I don't think this team, because of the dynamics and joy, is willing to leave someone. We have already renewed most of them, now we have to take care of those who are there. Last year I said that we could not lose anyone. I think it is the same now. If we can improve, it is always possible, but the key is to leave for the coming years.
“Suddenly we feel a lot of dependence on Raphinha, from Lamine. Maybe we need similar players, a solution for them. The team is quite balanced and we also have many good things at the base.”
Deco also spoke further about Lamine Yamal – in particular with regard to his contract situation. The 17-year-old sensation sees his current deal ending in 2026, although there is trust that he will complete a new deal in the summer when he turns 18.
“The players must be happy where they are. I don't see a better place for them. The boy grew up here, he got away from here. This generation has the opportunity to write history. I would like to be here in their situation, I would like to be part of it. I don't see that there will be problems (with Lamine).
