Kylian Mbappe could turn out to play a key role in the future of his fellow countryman Hugo Ekitike, who is said to be on the transfer list of Liverpool and Arsenal
Hugo Ekitike was able to turn to Kylian Mbappe for advice on interest from Liverpool and Arsenal – after he had previously asked the wisdom of the Real Madrid star when signing for Eintracht Frankfurt. Given the high regard to which Ekitike Mbappe holds, it could prove to be good news for Liverpool, given how the leader of France has previously spoken about the Premier League Giants. “I spoke to Liverpool because it is my mother's favorite club, my mother loves Liverpool …” Mbappe told the Telegraph in 2022. “I don't know why, you'll have to ask her! It's a good club and we met them five years ago. When I was in Monaco, I met them. A big club.”
Mbappe did not hide his admiration of Liverpool during his career, because he called the team a “machine” in the middle of their title -winning season in the 2019/20 campaign. He said BBC Sport: “What Liverpool is doing right now is great,” said Mbappe. “They are like a machine, they have found a rhythm and are like 'we play again, we play again'.
“They have lost zero games. If you look at how you think everything is easy, but that's not easy. The boys are focused, they play every three days of games and they win, they win, they win.
“Now the problem is that everyone looks at Liverpool, and everyone looks at what we can do against them, so now they have to show that they are strong again, but it is a very good team with a very good manager.”
Although Arsenal has sustained long -term injuries to Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka, Liverpool have suitable the majority of their forward players, but have contributed sparingly. Mohamed Salah is by far the top scorer of the club with 27 goals and is the only Red player in double digits.
