Mbappe makes visit to his struggling Ligue 2 club after sacking his second boss

Kylian Mbappe has insisted that he understands the anger of supporters while the Real Madrid star arrived to meet fans and players of his wrestling Ligue 2 Club SM Caen.

Mbappe arrived in Caen on Thursday, less than 24 hours after his stunning Hattrick Real Madrid helped to beat Manchester City from the Champions League.

The Real Madrid star may have expected another welcome in Caen, with the French side that is currently confronted with the prospect of a first relegation to the third layer in 41 years.

Caen, usually one of the top clubs of the division and a former Ligue 1 -resistant, is currently at the bottom of the table and is 11 points of safety.

Recently they unfolded a banner who warned him 'SMC is not your toys' after he had fired club icon Nicolas Seube as a manager.

Last month, fans invaded the field to confront players and employees immediately after a new defeat.

The arrival of Mbappe came after the decision to dismiss his second manager in Bruno Baltazar on Tuesday, confirming Michel der Zakarian as his replacement.

The 26-year-old reporters told that he had come to support his support to the team and expressed his conviction that they can turn their fortune around.

'It's important for me to be here. I want to show my support, be in contact with everyone and for them to know that they are counting on me, and especially in the situation we are in, “said Mbappe.

'If I am here, it will be because I believe in the project. I wanted to come earlier, but it was impossible. I told them that I was with them and that they had to believe. And I saw a group that was not resigned and wants to change the results.

'I think that with the quality of the team and the support of the fans, things can change and I hope this is a turning point. In football we have seen that nothing is impossible.

'There is a lack of trust, but I think a good result can change the spiral of the team. I understand the frustration of the people, as I told them personally, because I have not experienced this before.

“It's normal to be angry, but supporting people, filling the stadium and our mission is to give our best.”

Images that were divided by Caen showed Mbappe greeting supporters of the club, with the Real Madrid Star who signed signatures.

In the summer, Mbappe bought a majority stake in Caen for £ 12.6 million through mutually decorated companies, founded by the Real Madrid star, via its investment arm, Coalition Capital.

Caen is a proud club near the north coast of France with the highest presence figures in the French second layer, with an average of 15,000 supporters coming to the Stade Michel-D'ornano.

Players such as N'Golo Kante, William Gallas and Thomas Lemar have put on the shirt in recent years.

Caen Scout David Lasry revealed in a BBC documentary that the club had come close to signing Mbappe when the attacker was only 13.

Mbappe's father had reportedly confirmed that they had agreed that their son joined the club who were located in Normandy.

However, the deal collapsed when Caen was relegated from Ligue 1 to the second layer in 2012.

Instead, Mbappe would become a member of the Monaco Academy, with the attacker who later broke in the first team set-up before he came to PSG.
