Mbappe talks up Zidane link-up – ‘I will be very happy, it’s not in my hands’

Real Madrid -Superster Kylian Mbappe wants to play under Zinedine Zidane, there is no doubt about it. The leader of France made little secret during an interview with French television, with the World Cup winner and former Real Madrid manager coupled to the track in France.

Didier Deschamps is approaching a decade that is responsible for Les Bleus, in which they won a World Cup, and finished second in a second World Cup and at the euros. However, he has announced that the World Cup 2026 will be his last tournament that is in charge. Zidane is more or less strongly connected to the role since he left Real Madrid in 2022, and has to take on another job.

Mbappe was asked about the prospect that Zidane would replace by Deschamps.

“The federation will decide. Zidane was the idol of all children, he forever marked the history of the French national team and will remain in the hearts of the French people.”

“My love for him is indisputable. If he comes, it will be a great pleasure and I will be very happy,” he told TF1, as quoted by Diario ALS.

But he caught himself before he continued.

“Everyone knows that a name is swinging around. It is not in my hands. It would be better to interview the president, Philippe Diallo (laughs). I am not trying to talk about it; that is not my role.”

It will be a big surprise if Zidane is not the one who takes over from Deschamps. At one point it was rumor that Zidane could take over in Paris Saint-Germain, led by Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele at the time, their desire to work together. Although Xabi Alonso seems to succeed in the same way to succeed Carlo Ancelotti, a third time to Zidane cannot be excluded while Mbappe is there.
