Former Manchester United -midfielder Scott McTominay is reportedly nominated for the Ballon d'Or from 2025.
The 28-year-old enjoyed a phenomenal debut season with Napoli after his departure in Old Trafford.
In 36 performances he scored 13 goals and gave six assists.
He also played a key role in helping Napoli to their fourth Serie A title.
And now, a year after his move to Italy, the midfielder will be contrary to a balloon d'Or.
Football journalist Sam C reports that MCTominay has been nominated for the most prestigious individual prize in sport.
It is his first balloon d'Or nomination.
McTominay left Man Utd to join Napoli in August after he had fallen the pecking order in Old Trafford.
He signed for the Serie A Giants in a transmission of £ 25 million so that the Red Devil's Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain could sign.
The midfielder has since become a favorite with fans in Naples.

He spoke last month with Talksport and said: “The love and support they give to the entire team, not just individuals, it's special.
“It's great. People are incredibly passionate and they drive us through every game.
“They are probably some of the best fans I have ever played.
“Because every game we appear, they shoot to push and help the team. It's incredible.”
