Julianna Peña vs. Kayla Harrison booked for UFC 316 Co-Main event
Dvalishvili vs. O'Malley 2 is not the only top fight to look forward to UFC 316.
In the same announcement referred to above, White shared the booking of UFC Ladies Bantamweight Champion Julianna Peña against former PFL title holder Kayla Harrison for the UFC 316 Co-Main event. Pena won the UFC Bantamweight title by beating Raquel Pennington on UFC 307 last October by a split decision.
A lot of heat is associated with the UFC 316 Co-Main. Pena repeatedly accused Harrison of doping during her combat sport career and claimed that Harrison and other American top team members injected steroids into the gym during her short time with the gym.
Harrison is 2-0 in the UFC Bantamweight Division after a long, decorated term of office in the PFL, including several championships. She recently defeated Ketlen Vieira on UFC 307, after completing Holly Holm in her promotion debut at UFC 300.
UFC 316 marks the rapid reversal of promotion to Newark, New Jersey after hosting a Pay-per-view card last June, with Islam Makhachev vs. Dustin Poirier on UFC 302.
