Aljamain Sterling does not imagine that one of the current harvest of contenders will have a chance against UFC Bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili.
Dvalishvili has ruled over the 135 pound division with an iron fist since he climbed the atmosphere last September.
After beating Umar Nurmagomedov to start his reign, Dvalishvili Sean O'Malley submitted to UFC 316 in their Rematch in June.
The newest triumph from the Georgian was the will of Joe Rogan that could defeat Dvalishvili. The teammate Aljamain Sterling of the champion has the answer – and it is not good news for the Bantam weight candidates.
Aljamain Sterling says that only Merab Dvalishvili Merab Dvalishvili can beat
Like many hunters, Sterling was recently present for the International Fight Week festivities and UFC 317 Pay-per-View in Las Vegas.
While UFC X spoke 'Funk Master' with MMA Crazy and thought about the constant success of his teammate with the title he once had.
“It was a storm, waiting to happen,” said Sterling about the last victory of Dvalishvili. “Merab is just in a tear.”
And in terms whose Dvalishvili can harm, Sterling believes that only one man is a threat. Fortunately for the champion it is for yourself …
“I told him that the only person I can see to defeat him is. He just has to keep doing what he does, gets better and better, makes these small improvements to his game, and he will be difficult to catch for these guys.”
Cory Sandhagen believes that he is different from the former opponents of Merab Dvalishvili
During the same interview, Sterling gave a grim prediction for how the likely next challenger of Dvalishvili will do against 'The Machine'.
From Dvalishhvili it is expected that it will then be confronted against Cory Sandhagen, who earned his shot by beating former two -time flying weight King King DEIVESON Figueiredo in the Moines in May.
While he spoke with MMA Crazy during the International Fight Week, 'The Sandman' explained why the leading weapon of the champion will become void against him.
“I am really excited. I finally get my chance to actually have the opportunity to prove that I am the best in the world,” said Sandhagen.
“I am not going to buy in the story that Merab is this unbeatable thing. I don't think he is. I think I also have one of the best conditioning, so he will not be able to make me tired as he could be with the other boys.
“I'm going outside and I'm going to deal with Merab with me, not the other way around,” Sandhagen added. “I'm just not O'Malley. You are not going to take me down and hold. I am not a Umar, where I get tired in round four and five.
“I will be there the entire five rounds, I will be able to struggle with you, and then you will have a lot of striking. That is not fun for Merab, because it can sometimes become a bit sloppy.”
