The Argentinian star spoke with Apple TV about his career and rated his time so far with Inter Miami.
Lionel Messi recently started his second full season in the MLS with the Argentinian star who strived with Inter Miami on another positive season.
Since Major League Soccer celebrates for thirty years and as part of his alliance with Apple TV, today (Friday 28 February) an exclusive interview between Messi and the legendary Zane Lowe was broadcast, where the Argentinian opens his personal and professional life with a tough focus on his time at Inter Miami.
On MLS, Messi stated: “I think it is a very dynamic and physical competition where teams want to score and play in the attack. There are a lot back and forth competitions, and it is a bit related to the country in which we find ourselves and the sports in which they are used to, where there is usually a lot of showmanship, many points, many attacking games. The competition has grown and continues to grow, and I am sure this will not stop.
Hopefully the clubs will see what happened to Inter Miami and we can all continue to grow and the competition will help to become even bigger and more important. I think that is an opportunity for MLS to make a change in world football and to continue to grow, “Messi explained.
During the interview, Messi admitted that it was always in his plans to play in the MLS. He admitted that the attraction of a new lifestyle after his troubled enchantment with Paris Saint Germain was also a key factor to move to Miami.
“I always had the idea to play in the MLS in my head, and I said it more than once. It was something that attracted my attention and I wanted to do it. To mutual Miami was an opportunity, and because of how everything happened, my last years in Paris, although it was a decision that I had to make right away because I had to leave Barcelona, they were two years that I didn't enjoy it, I was not happy with the daily training sessions and competitions. It was very difficult for me to adjust to that, and I wanted to come to Inter because it was a club that grew and I was attracted by the idea to get and help the club get bigger, and because I knew it was a city that my family and I would go well, and I didn't regret it, I thought it was the right time, Messi added.
Trust that titles will come for Inter Miami
The world champion with Argentina acknowledged that Inter Miami is a club that is designed to win titles and remains convinced that the franchise is on the way to realize this dream.
“I think the team we have today is built to try to win championships and that is what we do. I think there has been a good adjustment period with the younger players who have arrived and I think the goal should continue to be, try to win titles and help the club grow. The club wants to bring younger talent to the first team and I think that's the right choice, “he added.
