Micah Richards pokes fun at Roy Keane’s heated confrontation with an Ipswich fan

Micah Richards has poked fun at Roy Keane's heated confrontation with an Ipswich fan during a recent Sky Sports broadcast.

The former Manchester United captain was involved in a heated on-pitch argument with Ipswich fans following United's 1-1 draw with the Tractor Boys last month.

Keane responded to brutal taunts from some of the fans at Portman Road, where he once managed, before offering to meet a supporter in the car park.

In the broadcasts that followed, Keane's fellow pundits have made cheeky comments about the incident, but now Richards has gone one step further with a post on social media.

Heading to X on Sunday night, the Sky pundit shared a photo of Keane and Jamie Carragher in a car park, with the Red Devils legend jokingly checking the time on his watch.

The caption read: 'This Ipswich fan really takes his time. We just want to go home, Roy.'

The trio of ex-Premier League stars were part of Sky's expert team and covered Liverpool's clash with Manchester City, where the Reds triumphed 2-0 on the day.

Keane's feud with the fan was mentioned during the broadcast when Liverpool star Salah was interviewed after the final whistle.

Salah was recently criticized by Carragher over the Egyptian's ongoing contract issues with the Merseyside giants.

During the interview, Carragher was asked about recent comments from presenter Dave Jones, who said: “Mo Salah is throwing down the gauntlet, Jamie?”

Carragher jokingly replied: “I'll see him in the car park,” poking fun at the incident between Keane and a fan last weekend.

Carragher decided to refer to the incident between Keane and the supporter when asked about Salah's reaction to the Man of the Match award.

Carragher's fellow Sky Sports pundits couldn't help but laugh as Keane slumped in his seat looking slightly embarrassed.

Neil Finbow, who witnessed the altercation from the pitch barrier, shed light on what exactly happened between Keane and the supporter during an exclusive interview with Mail Sport.

He explained that the fan had expressed frustration with Keane's behavior towards his children years ago, claiming Keane had been rude and denied them autographs during his managerial tenure.

Speaking to Mail Sport, Finbow said: 'The falling out all stemmed from an issue with his children. The fan's problem was about getting autographs when he was manager here. The man actually said that Roy Keane ruled with fear.

'You saw him point to the parking lot, because that's where the autographs were signed, and that's where he had a problem with Roy all those years ago. So it makes sense that they pointed there.”

Finbow noted that Keane's comments may have been misinterpreted: “What Roy said back could have been misinterpreted. Maybe he wanted to talk in the parking lot, because that's where it all happened. It's hard to say. But hey, he could have meant, “I'll talk to you in the parking lot,” but it came across as if he was inviting him [for a fight].'
