Micah Richards reveals true allegiance in Saka chat after Arsenal’s Real win

Micah Richards seemed to give the team away that he really supports after he had knocked Arsenal out of the Champions League on Wednesday.

The faithfulness of Richards to a certain club has been a subject of conversation for a number of years, since he was born in Birmingham, but then moved to the north to join the Academy of Leeds United before he continued to Oldham and then Manchester City.

Richards broke into the senior side of City and spent 10 years in the first team – with only one season on loan in Fiorentina during this time – before he went back to the midlands to end his career at Aston Villa.

But he also hinted earlier that he has a weakness for Arsenal, and that came to the fore on Wednesday evening when he had a chat after the game with Bukayo Saka for CBS Sports.

Richards spoke Saka through the TV screen: 'Saka! (It's) Big Meeks, Uncle Meeks! You know I love you, I love you so much!

“What a player, what a man. Come on, let's bring it home now, right? '

Saka started laughing after he was showered with praise, while Richard's 'fellow expert Thierry Henry seemed confused when he asked the ex-City star:' Are you an Arsenal fan or not? '

“Sometimes,” replied Richard's sheepish.

He may not have fully committed himself to his reaction to Henry, but Richards who told Saka to 'bring home' gave a huge indication that he is really an arsenal supporter.

Earlier this year, Richard's shocked at his own competition that he supports two Premier League clubs, which made him ridiculous by former boxing world champion and Everton Super-Fan Tony Bellew.

Asked by Bellew which team he follows, Richards said: 'Who do I support? Well, depends on whether I am in the air or from the sky. '

Bellew shot back: 'Well, we are in the broadcast and tell us the truth.

Richards replied: “Man City.”

The host of the show Romesh Ranganathan then added: “Off Air: Arsenal!”

'Yes!' Richards confirmed.

Richards may be determined that he also supports City, but last month he made the fans of his old club angry during his FA Cup -Punditry for the BBC.

After Fulham's last-16 penalty shootout victory over Manchester United, Richards explained: 'It is now very open, what an opportunity for a team to win it. All major teams are out. '

City supporters were furious that he had suggested that Pep Guardiola's side is not a 'big team' and hit their former player on social media.

The city is still in the competition and will be confronted with Nottingham Forest later this month in the semi -final, while Aston Villa takes on Crystal Palace in the other four tie.
