Michael Bisping matchmakes Tatsuro Taira’s next fight against fan favorite after UFC Vegas 108 finish

UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping wants to see Tatsuro Taira in a no. 1 candidate fight after UFC Vegas 108.

UFC Flying weight candidate Tatsuro Taira quickly worked from Korte-Notice replacement Hyun Sung Park in the UFC Vegas 108 Main Event on Saturday. After he had an opponent switch on the last second, Taira Park welcomed back to the Octagon with an annoying face crank entry in round 2.

Taira bounced back from his first professional loss against Brandon Royval last October. Before he fell to Royval, Taira won his first 16 professional fights, including UFC victories on Alex Perez and Carlos Hernandez.

Michael Bisping locates the best path from Tatsuro Taira to flightweight Title shot

Despite his recent loss for Royval, Taira remains in an excellent position for a potentially flying weight with another victory in the Octagon. Matchups with people like top candidates Manel Kape and Kai Kara-France can be logical for the next UFC booking from Taira.

But one of the top analysts of the UFC has another big name in mind for the next fight by Taira to probably guarantee a championship.

During the UFC Vegas 108 Post-Fight Show on ESPN, Michael Bisping brought an intriguing option for the next fight by Taira after his dominant victory over the Apex.

“He calls for a title fight. I understand that, but I had something like that:” You must have a fight first, “said Bisping about Taira.

“I am not the matchmaker. I don't make those decisions, but that seems logical. It seems that he should still have a fight. Who should be against that fight?

“I have a choice: it is the former champion Brandon Moreno. Tell me that you don't want to see that fight? You would show the level of Tatsuro Taira and allow Brandon Moreno to come back to the mix – not that he is of course not in the mix.” (H/T MMA Junkie)

Former UFC champion flightweight Brandon Moreno remains unbeeked for his next fight, from this letter, after beating Steve Erceg earlier this year. Moreno most recently accepted Royval's callout for Noche UFC next month, but it is still to see whether the fight will flower.

UFC Flyweight Champion Alexandre Pantoja is expected to be confronted with Joshua for his next defending defense, a matchup that keeps a close eye on Taira. Taira recently predicted that Pantoja would beat in their likely upcoming fight.

The next fight by Tatsuro Taira could be for number 1 Competitive Status after UFC Vegas 108

Taira was supposed to face Amir Albazi in the Main Event of UFC Vegas 108, before Albazi gave itself for medical reasons. The UFC matchmakers may try the Taira vs. Albazi fight after UFC Vegas 108 can be booked again, because it sounds like Albazi's time on the sidelines will be short-lived.

In the meantime, Moreno wants to earn a shot on Pantoja earlier in their career after two earlier losses to the flight weight holder. Moreno lost the Pantoja belt on UFC 290 through unanimous decision.

Taira is immediately back in the flying weight mix after UFC Vegas 108. He is one of the few contenders who have previously not confronted with Pantoja or of, so that a potential title shot is closer than you would probably expect.
