UFC 196 contained one of the greatest fighting in MMA history, but for this reason the classic Co-Main event is often overlooked.
On this day (March 5) in 2016, Nate Diaz shocked to submit the world by Conor McGregor in one of the most important victories that have ever taken place in the Octagon.
The Co-Main event laid the recently crowned Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm on former challenger Miesha Tate in the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Both women have gone their own way with Tate, who recently announced her own UFC recovery after a long period of inactivity.
With regard to 'The Preacher's Daughter', she remained a staple of the 135 pound division before Holm was recently drawn up by the GFL.

Miesha Tate won the Bantamweight title with a coupling bending over Holly Holm
After he missed the Bantamweight title in her first attempt against Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate rebuilt himself with a profit with four fights.
Her hope to protect another shot seemed unlikely while 'Rowdy' was at the top, but all of that changed in an instant on UFC 193 the last summer where Holly Holm dropped all over the world when she hit Rousey with a main kick.
Holm's first title defense was booked for UFC 196 in Las Vegas, where, as we had seen in her title -winning version, her speed, footwork and kickboxing held her opponent on the outside during the first round.
Tate was able to swing the momentum in the second by securing her first Takedown, where she not only dominated the round, but also endangered with multiple submission attempts.
It would always be a battle in which Jager can dictate where the game takes place and for the next two rounds the champion had the last word when she danced around Tate as the cleaner striker.

Tate was not illusions on the way to the fifth round, she needed a finish to leave with the Bantamweight title and when she saw a chance, she gave it everything she had.
The superior grappler managed to grab the champion to force a scrambling, take her back and with 90 seconds on the clock, Choke Holm completely unconscious.
All three judges had scored the fight at 38-37 in favor of Holm that entered the fifth round, which means that because of the 10-8 she scored in the second, Tate won the last round of the fight in a draw.
Eventually she was perfect at her moments, where she secured a 10-8 round and then a finish of the back of only 2 successful Takedowns.

In her interview after the fight with Joe Rogan, Tate spoke about her way of thinking in the fifth round and the respect she has for Holm.
“I knew I had to finish the fight. I had to find that perfect time. I had to be perfect in the fifth round. I was patient in those other rounds and it is as if she broadcasted me in it, a few of those rounds, if not three, so I knew that the fifth round was important.
“She has a lot of heart, I mean, not many people would not tap. She went out like a champion, I have so much respect for this woman and I just thank her so bad for coming in tonight and give me everything she had. “
Miesha Tate's next challenge was already decided
Miesha Tate reached the highlight of her career at UFC 296, but her reign as the Bantamweight Champion would eventually be short -lived.
On the same night in the main card opener, Amanda Nunes Valentina defeated Shevchenko via a unanimous decision to take her claim as the next in line for a title shot.
They were later matched a few months later for UFC 300 and after one of the most dramatic builds to a map in the UFC history, they came into the spotlight in the main event.
With a devastating version to win the title, Nunes used this moment to announce himself as a star in what was clearly a death of the torchlight.
Dominated.
