Mike Perry reacts to Dirty Boxing Championship’s inaugural event and teases ‘great matchup’ in early 2025
Former UFC star turned BKFC superstar 'Platinum' Mike Perry hosted his first ever combat sports event this weekend; a private boxing show that ended in a brutal knockout for MMA icon Yoel Romero.
The 'secret' boxing event was undoubtedly a roaring success for Mike Perry, who was keen to tease that there is 'more to come' from his new Dirty Boxing promotion.

Mike Perry responds and recaps his first ever 'Dirty Boxing Championship' event
Speaking to The Schmo afterwards, Mike Perry would first celebrate the incredible effort shown by the athletes who competed in the opening event of the Dirty Boxing Championship in Miami.
“I'm so proud of the fighters tonight and everything they put on the line. The crowd was amazing, it was such a great show,” Perry said, before adding that there is “still more to come” from its exciting new promotion.
“We have to go back to the drawing board, I have to look at things, I have to look at the whole card again – I loved the heavyweight fight, I would have liked to see more power-punching, maybe some other mix-up in matches.
“It felt like MMA versus MMA tonight in a boxing ruleset and I would like to see more boxing versus MMA, MMA versus boxing, boxer versus boxer, MMA versus MMA – to see what we can get out of the fighters.”
Considering the fact that the event captured the attention of the martial arts world in just a few days, Perry knows there is plenty of room for improvement as well.
“There were still some great moments tonight, and it got me interested to see what I could do there… I know the world will be excited about this [type of event].”
UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones was also in attendance at Dirty Boxing Championship's debut show, with 'Bones' touting the incredible post-UFC success Perry has found.
“I'm actually very proud of Mike Perry, his post-UFC career has been very impressive, his professionalism, I mean he hasn't missed a beat announcing the show.
“As fighters, that's the kind of thing I look up to. It's really cool to see the guy transition from athlete to businessman and the Mike Perry business flourish.”
Mike Perry is targeting a “great matchup” in early 2025 for his return to action
After reeling off five consecutive wins in BKFC, Mike Perry's career resurgence came to a temporary halt in July when he was stopped by Jake Paul in the sixth round of their boxing showdown.
Now 'Platinum' wants to return to action in early 2025 so he can silence his naysayers once and for all.
“I'm just ready to get back in there and show the world, after all the bulls*** they talked about, what I'm capable of in a great matchup [in] one of my favorite weight classes and bare knuckle.
“It's the toughest of the tough and I'm looking forward to getting back into it soon, hopefully early next year,” said Perry, before teasing that he'd like to test himself against Yoel Romero, who suffered a brutal KO scored in the main event of Dirty Boxing's debut.
“I'm so grateful man, and when I see those lines tonight, I would have loved to get in on that – I would love if Yoel hit me with that left uppercut… That was incredible, I would have gotten that hit in my face amazing, tasty sometimes just like candy, I'm just ready to get back in there.
