Mike Perry warns Julio Cesar Chavez Jr of ‘weird’ Jake Paul power after being dropped three times in KO loss

Mike Perry claimed that fighting against Jake Paul was 'weird' and warned Julio Cesar Chavez JR for his strength for their collision this month.

The BKFC 'King of Violence' was thrown in with Paul in the short term after his initially planned fight with Mike Tyson was forced to November. Perry was a game and took Paul five rounds to find out what the social media star would describe as a '$ 60 million risk'.

Now Paul stands for the former world champion Chavez JR in what is expected to be the most difficult test of his career on 28 June in California.

In the meantime, Perry is currently promoting the second full event of DBX, which takes place in the Hangar Miami on Friday, June 14. Tickets are available here and fans can view live on YouTube here.

Mike Perry sketches Jake Paul's 'Weird Power' for Julio Cesar Chavez JR Clash

While Jake Paul Mike Perry put down three times before he landed the victory of the interruption, the former UFC star insists that it was not so much the power behind the bumps as his style. He claims that a more technical boxer like Chavez might have a better balance and avoids the big knockdowns.

“It was different, it was strange,” Perry Bloody Elbow said in an exclusive chat. “I train with boxing gloves to spar, but the way he puts his weight in some things, it's not as if the bumps hurt my head like that.

“But he would catch me if I was out of balance and I don't think Chavez will be out of balance as I was … Chavez is a more formal boxer, I do better if I can do more of an MMA striking style and make it dirty.

“For example, I was able to beat a 27-3 boxer by making the dirty that I was allowed to do according to those rules. But just boxing, he has no terrible power, his strength was there. He was able to hit me and use his weight and size, but Chavez is a bit closer to his size.

“They are very on each other and I think Jake has a good skill, he has a great team around him and those things make big differences.”

Mike Perry breaks the chances of Julio Cesar Cesar Chavez JR against Jake Paul

Chavez made his last outing in the ring on the undercard of Paul and Perry's fight last year. He struggled with a controversial victory against Uriah Hall, but is supposed to take this fight considerably more seriously.

“We saw Chavez on that card, Uriah Hall may not have had the boxing experience, but we saw him very strongly in the stand-up game and there were some things that were difficult for him to switch to that boxing.

“Chavez has some size, they fight again at 200lb, Jake cuts that weight again and he will do well. We saw him against Mike Tyson at 227LB, so he will have good weight, and he has some power, size and skill.

“However, Chavez has a lot of experience in boxing with nearly 60 professional boxing fights. His record has more than 50 victories under the belt in boxing itself and his father was always big, so there is a lot of pressure on him.

“I wonder how that is because Jake has spoken to some waste. I don't know how it is because Chavez has a lot of experience and I had to talk to him when I and Jake fought and he has a little more size than me to go with the boxing skill.

“It's a difficult fight for Jake, but everything can happen.”
