Mikel Arteta greeted Bukayo Saka's long-awaited Arsenal-backing of injury as a 'beautiful moment', the winger scored after just seven minutes to help Fulham overcome last night.
The 23-year-old, who had been off for 101 days with a hamstring injury that required surgery, was replaced in the 66th minute and struck a little later to add to Mikel Merino's attack.
Saka ran to the Arsenal Dugout to celebrate his goal, a back-post header by Gabriel Martinelli's Flick On, with the physios of the North London club and sports sciences.
Arteta said: 'I think (it was) a wonderful moment to see how much our people love, respect and admire. I think the best example is his reaction.
'What does he do immediately after scoring a goal? He goes and says thanks for all the hard work that all sports science boys, physios and everyone involved in the recovery have done to be able to be in the state he is.
“I think he has lifted the stadium, the energy and (it) great to have it back.”
However, it was a mixed night for the Gunners who, despite the fact that Saka had back, lost Back Gabriel, after just 16 minutes, lost a hamstring problem.
It is a seismic blow for their Champions League quarter-final first-laying draw against Real Madrid next Tuesday in the Emirates. Both he and Jurrien Timber, who have a knee delivery, will be assessed today.
Arteta added: 'Yes (there is concern) because he (Gabriel) never comes loose. He felt something. We don't know how big it is.
“Jurrien too. He struggled in the game very early. He managed to continue, at one point he couldn't.
“We don't know how they get. We will judge them tomorrow (today) to better understand how we are with those two
