Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal plan to end Real Madrid’s Champions League defence

Mikel Arteta has drawn up his plan for how Arsenal can break a mental block in the UEFA Champions League and Real Madrid can eliminate.

His side stormed past PSV Eindhoven in the last 16 to set up a quarter -final confrontation with the defensive European champions.

Arteta led Arsenal to the Champions League Quarter Finals last season, in his debut in the game as a Gunners -Baas, and he is determined to take the next step.

With the chances of Arsenal to win the Premier League Effective already ended by Liverpool van Arne Slot, the season of Arteta hangs on the incoming two games against Carlo Ancelotti, and he is ready for the challenge for the challenge.

“The dream is to win, to win the big trophies, and that's what we want to do”, according to an exclusive interview with Diario ALS.

“This club was not twice in the quarterfinals of the Champions League in 15 years, which is a long time. And so there are many other things we have done.

“But we now have to create our own history, and that means achieving these knockout phases, they win and continue to the semi -final. That is the next step we have to take.

“I feel excited. I think we have been pulled against the opponent we are all the most enthusiastic about, because they have historically ruled the Superste in the competition and on their own merits.

“We have an opponent who will demand the maximum of us in the best competition in Europe. So we go for it.

“We must be better than them, and believe in ourselves from the first minute, and be effective at the decisive moments.

“We know that in the Champions League competitions are determined in the penalty areas, that is what we are looking at.

Arsenal's only earlier Champions League meeting with Los Blancos came in the last 16-phase 2005/06 when Thierry Henry silent the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in a 1-0 win.
