Mikel Arteta’s four-man transfer wishlist as Arsenal desperately bid to solve ‘huge error’

Another week, a new spotlight was shining on the struggles of Arsenal without a center ahead.

Alan Shearer is the latter that points to Mikel Arteta's biggest problem by suggesting that clubs that the Gunners approach will now want to ask for a premium price because of their “huge mistake” not to strengthen.

Gary Neville now thinks that the club regrets their decision to borrow in ineffective Raheem Sterling last summer because it also limited their ability to do business in January.

Injuries to Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus have the title bid of Arsenal Hamped this season. But at the end of this season, renewed attempts will be made to strengthen their most obvious weakness – and there are four players who will arouse a lot of interest.

Benjamin Sesko remains the top goal, with the RB Leipzig objective making available for around £ 55 million and understood that they are enthusiastic about switching to the Premier League. It is unlikely that the German club will offer too much resistance as soon as their asking price has been achieved.

Alexander Isak is perhaps the next best and certainly the most coveted players who are already with Premier League experience.

But his situation at Newcastle United may depend on where the Eddie Howe team ends this season and when the Secure A Champions League returns, there seems to be no chance that he will leave St James's park.

Even then the tone is insisting that they will not be busy selling, even if they fail to go to a top five, but that would undoubtedly be tested by a large number of lovers.

Viktor Gyokeres is also admired, but his existing relationship with Ruben Amorim means that he seems more likely to end in Manchester United. The need for a goal scorer at Old Trafford is even more urgent and the Sweden International is their first choice.

Then there is Ollie Watkins, on whom Arsenal offers in the last days of the winter transfer window only for Aston Villa not to say a chance.

It is still to be seen whether the Gunners would return with a different offer for England's striker in the summer because Villa was offended by the bid. Meanwhile, Watkins will be 30 later this year and the club would rather have a younger option.

In the meantime, Shearer thinks that those who go for the Arsenal for the sales club demand a premium allowance because they know that the needs of Arteta have become desperate.

“Is Mikel Arteta now under a bit busy? Call me a Premier League manager who is not under pressure! But you have to say that with what Arsenal has published and how close they are in title races,” Shearer told Betfair.

“There is no doubt that he is a very talented manager and I don't think he is under pressure between now and the end of the season. But I would guess that between now and the beginning of the following season that they have to bring players.

“How many additions are needed is the question, but one thing is certain that they have to bring a center-forward center of world class and there are not many around. For whom they are going, they will be fleeced because everyone knows they are desperate on a striker.”
