AC Milan has appointed Albanian Igli Tare as their new sports director, the Serie A Club announced Monday as part of a wider reset after a disappointing season.
The 51-year-old former attacker joins Milan as eighth in Serie A and missed the European qualification for the first time since 2019.
“We are delighted to welcome in the Rossoneri family. He is the right person to kick our reset,” said Milan Chief Executive Giorgio Furlani in a statement.
Tare spent 15 years as a sports director at Lazio before he left in 2023, supervising a period with three Coppa Italia titles and three Supercoppa Italiana Triumphs.

One of Tare's first tasks could be to find a new head coach, with Sergio Conukicao being expected to be relieved of his duties after just six months.
Conceicao supervised a supercoppa triumph over Rivals Inter shortly after taking the reins, but only won 11 of his 21 Series A matches that were in charge in 2024-25.
